Job Title: Associate Town Planner
Location: Newcastle

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Town Planner to join a growing planning consultancy at their new office in Newcastle. As part of this expansion, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a diverse range of planning services across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This is an exciting chance to contribute to the development of a new office while working on high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a range of planning applications from inception through to approval.
* Provide strategic planning advice to clients on development proposals, policy interpretation, and site viability.
* Prepare and submit planning applications, including supporting reports, statements, and presentations.
* Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure timely project delivery.
* Assist in business development activities and expanding the office's client base.
* Supervise and mentor junior team members, offering guidance and support in their professional development.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A degree in Town Planning (or equivalent), with eligibility for MRTPI.
* Significant post-graduate experience in planning, ideally within the UK planning system.
* Proven experience in managing and delivering planning applications, with a strong understanding of local and national planning policies.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
