About the Role:

Academics is recruiting for a passionate and Behaviour Buddy for a school in Battle. The ideal candidate will work closely with students who may require additional support, helping them to manage their behaviour and enhance their learning experience. This role combines elements of a Teaching Assistant position, offering direct support to teachers while working with individual or small groups of students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on behaviour management and emotional support.

* Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.

* Foster positive relationships with students, helping to promote self-regulation and build confidence.

* Support children with special educational needs, working with teachers and other staff to implement tailored support strategies.

* Maintain a calm and structured learning environment, offering guidance and support to students with challenging behaviour.

* Monitor student progress and report to teaching staff, contributing to individual development plans where necessary.

What We're Looking For:

* Experience in a similar role, particularly working with children with behavioural needs, is desirable.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.

* Patience, empathy, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.

* A commitment to supporting students in their academic, emotional, and social development.

* Experience or an understanding of behaviour management strategies.

* A proactive, team-focused attitude, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
