Job Title: Chartered Structural Engineer

Salary: Up to £65,000

I am actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Heritage Structural Engineer to lead a dedicated Heritage Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Engineer with significant experience in conservation work, ideally with CARE (Conservation Accredited Engineer) registration or actively working towards accreditation.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering complex projects related to the conservation and restoration of historic structures. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess historic materials, conduct inspections, and provide expert advice on conservation strategies.

Key Responsibilities for this Charted Structural Engineer:

* Lead and manage the Heritage Team on conservation-focused projects.

* Conduct structural assessments of historic buildings and materials.

* Develop innovative conservation solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

* Produce detailed technical reports, presentations, and sketches for clients.

* Mentor and manage a small team of engineers and technicians.

* Collaborate with external stakeholders including architects, contractors, and heritage bodies.

* Attend site visits for inspections and assessments.

Requirements for this Chartered Structural Engineering role include:

* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a proven track record in conservation engineering.

* Experience working on heritage projects, with strong knowledge of historic materials and structures.

* CARE accreditation (or working towards) is highly desirable.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

* Strong sketching and presentation abilities.

* A collaborative approach with the ability to lead and inspire a small team.

* Passion for heritage conservation and working on high-profile historic buildings.
