INTRODUCTION

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Commercial Business Analyst for a Public Sector client in Hemel Hempstead.

To deliver service within the specified function or functions. Ensure that these services are delivered within their framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control and legislative requirements.

Support the Head of Service and Commercial Manager as part of the service team, in delivering the corporate vision, values and strategic priorities.

Analyse and present data to various stakeholders throughout a programme/project life cycle to support and evidence decision-making.

Liaise with Project Managers, Specialists and other Project Stakeholders to ensure that the Commercial Strategy is delivered effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery Accountabilities

A fixed term role supporting the delivery of the Commercial Income Review Project, with a particular focus on:

1 Extracting, analysing, and presenting data and service information, and conducting bench marking/ market research/external reviews on a few commercial opportunities including the Commercial Income Review and the Garage Portfolio Review as required to inform Commercial decisions (both strategic and operational), that will support them to:

2 Optimise income and identify new revenue opportunities.

3 Research new and innovative trends and activities that lead to income generation that are cost effective as part of an ongoing Commercial Income Review. The first sprint for this programme includes the following areas:

* Commercial Waste

* Facility Hire

* Fees & Charges

* Pricing Strategy for Parking

* Pricing Strategy for Garages

* Explore options for new delivery models as appropriate.

* Prioritise use of resources to meet changing customer needs and demands.

* Help to promote and grow the local economy.

* Develop a commercial culture that includes contract management.

* Shape external funding opportunities where appropriate.

1 Undertaking ad-hoc project-based work as required, across the Commercial Programme, that supports the delivery of the Commercial Strategy and aligns with their corporate values and wider objectives.

2 Maintaining and updating the knowledge of the commercial delivery throughout the organisation including contributing to developing best practice and a commercial culture in service delivery.

3 Research how other organisations use innovation to support and contribute to the development of the organisations corporate policy, strategy and plans including responding to legislative and guidance changes.

4 Providing excellent customer service working with customer facing staff and staff with other specialist areas to provide seamless services to customers both internally and externally.

5 Working with the wider Commercial Development team to provide greater understanding and support to the commissioning cycle and contract management, where appropriate.

6 Working with Commercial and Procurement colleagues on commercial issues and queries effectively, supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for customers, communities, and clients.

EXPERIENCE

Experience of working in a commercial environment

Experience in business/ data analysis

SKILLS / ABILITIES

Ability to analyse and report data from a variety of systems, including financial reports

Ability to identify and extract key data for specific commercial analysis

Ability to analyse and present data that can be used to shape key commercial decisions

Advanced MS Excel skills and confident user of other Microsoft products including Word and PowerPoint

Confident in challenging performance across the organisation including with senior managers

Performance Management

Confident in challenging performance across the organisation including with senior managers

Ability to develop innovative new performance ideas

General Skills

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Ability to present complex messages in an understandable way
