Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisor to work within secondary schools in Brighton. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for education and those who want to gain valuable experience in a classroom setting. As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the smooth running of lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, helping maintain a productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes of secondary school students across various subjects and year groups.
* Deliver pre-set lesson plans, ensuring students are engaged and on task.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining discipline in line with the school's policies.
* Support students as they complete assigned work, answering questions and offering guidance when needed.
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff, providing feedback on the day's activities and student progress.
* Maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring a safe and focused classroom atmosphere.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a secondary school or classroom setting is advantageous but not essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to manage a classroom.
* Ability to adapt to different subject areas and year groups.
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to work effectively on short notice.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
