About the Role:

As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Design and Technology department. You will provide essential support to the teaching staff by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting students during practical lessons. You'll be a vital part of creating a safe and inspiring environment that allows students to develop their skills and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and set up materials, equipment, and tools for lessons in the Design and Technology department.

* Support teachers in delivering practical lessons and help students with projects and tasks.

* Maintain and repair equipment and machinery used in the department, ensuring everything is in good working order.

* Manage stock levels of materials and supplies, ordering replacements as necessary.

* Maintain health and safety standards in the workshop, ensuring students follow proper procedures.

* Assist with the creation of teaching resources and displays.

* Provide general administrative support as required.

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience or a keen interest in Design and Technology or a related field (such as engineering, art, or construction).

* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

* Ability to work well in a team and support both teachers and students.

* A good understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.

* Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential.

* Enthusiasm and a proactive attitude to support the department and students.
