Financial Accounts Assistant sought by a global polymer manufacturer with over 20,000 employees across 170 locations worldwide to join their team based in Ross-on-Wye.

 

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Financial Accounts Assistant your responsibilities will include:

- All treasury enquiries: raising payments, inter-company netting, bank & group correspondence, and bank reconciliations

- Financial accounts reconciliations and accounting – GNRI accounting, balance sheet, and P&L reconciliations

- Financial accounting general enquiries

- Audit assistance: year-end, interim and statutory audit, HMRC government audits, and year-end reporting

- Subsidiary accounting, involving a range of tasks from salaries, journals, accruals and prepayments, pension, reconciliations, TB, fixed assets, and producing monthly accounts

- Stock reconciliation

- Ad hoc reporting

- Contributing to the finance function of the business and supporting the team as needed

 

The successful Financial Accounts Assistant will demonstrate:

- Previous accounting experience

- AAT qualified, CIMA/ACCA part-qualified, or studying

- Working knowledge of SAP and Sage would be advantageous

- Computer literate in all MS Office applications

- Self-driven, friendly with a positive disposition and a clear focus on high quality

- Actively participates in team work to ensure organisational goals are reached

- Questions and – where appropriate – challenges the status quo to ensure continuous improvement

- Builds trust and develops a reputation for reliability by following through with actions

- Accuracy, attention to detail, excellent organisational skills
