Term Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location : Sawtry

Salary: £23,874.09 - £26,765.42 per annum

Hours : 37 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus school training days)

The Role

They are looking for an enthusiastic person who would like to join their friendly and hardworking team as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant who is looking to progress their career and who would like to develop their knowledge and expertise in providing specialist support for students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEND).

The Village Academy is a vibrant and happy place to work where all the staff are dedicated to the support of their fantastic and eager to learn students.

You will be working under the direction of the SENDCo/Assistant SENDCo and/or Teachers to:

* Provide personalised and bespoke support for students to enable them to make both academic and personal progress

* Deliver high quality interventions either 1:1 or in small groups.

* Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities with teaching staff in order to plan and deliver high quality educational provision for their young people.

* Support the implementation of APDRs, behaviour plans, curriculum planning and assessment, providing detailed feedback to teachers, parents or outside agencies as needed.

* Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.

* Contribute to the wider life of the Academy, including extracurricular provision.

* Is skilful in working with students with SEND in all year groups to support their learning and progress.

* Is confident and resilient, patient and nurturing and who wants to help us to support their students to thrive and develop into successful young people.

* Demonstrates excellent classroom practice with high standards of teaching and learning.

* Can act on their own initiative and has strong attention to detail.

* Is a good team player who is willing to contribute to the ethos and wider community of the academy.

* Is motivated, passionate, and reflective about their work.
