ICT Network Manager

Location : Police Headquarters, Exeter, Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary: Grade 8 - Starts at £40,950 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £45,546 per annum

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Role

Devon and Cornwall Police are seeking an ICT Network Manager to manage, monitor and optimise the ICT Network across both Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police.

Responsibilities include providing advice in the feasibility and impact of strategic and tactical changes to ICT Network services.

The ICT Network Manager will own and manage the Voice and Data Network area working closely with our Managed Service provider.

The ideal candidate will have a previous ICT Networks exposure, ideally with related qualifications (although these can be achieved following successful appointment into the role).

This role can be based at our Devon and Cornwall Police Headquarters in Exeter or Dorset Police Headquarters in Winfrith. This is a hybrid role which means there is an opportunity for regular home working.

Skills and Qualifications

* Degree in Computing, ICT, Technology or similar BSc or demonstrable equivalent experience which would allow them to support and deliver the requirements of the role

* Ability to undertake and achieve ITIL Service Management certification if not held already

* Project management qualification (Prince2 or Agile)

* Appropriate contract management experience/qualifications

* A high level of ICT competency as an advanced user of Microsoft M365 applications for data analysis, organisational planning and presentation purposes.

* Experience in strategic ICT supplier and service management in a network or telephony technology area.

* Proven successful project management of complex ICT projects

* Experience in managing large budgets

* Significant understanding and implementation of security best practice in the delivery of ICT services

* Experience with Auditors and security specialists; and able to manage and deliver any resulting remediation plans and recommendations

* Proven people, management and leadership skills

* Effective communication skills with ability to communicate with all stakeholders at all levels through meetings, presentations and written reports.

* Experienced in managing and supporting ICT services. Able to get the best out of key applications, understanding how they interface with other systems, how information is acquired, processed and managed, and how staff and partners use and benefit from this

* Experience in negotiating with and managing 3 rd party suppliers

* Significant relevant experience in the management and monitoring of mission-critical network services within large organisations

* Understanding of relevant legislation such as the Computer Misuse Act, Telecommunications Act and Data Protection Act
