Our client are a specialist data centre organisation with facilities in the UK and Nordics, and further expansion plans for the future. Operating an in-house model overseas, and implementing that same model at their UK facility in Central London with the site located between Old Street and Farringdon. They seek 2 x Multi-skilled and electrically qualified Lead Engineers to join their existing critical facilities team working on a  24/7 "continental" shift pattern. Working across both day and nights and fulfilling the role of sole engineer for night shifts, these will provide planned and reactive maintenance to electrical, mechanical and critical services systems across the building and ensure 100% uptime. Guideline salary for the position is £54-55,000 basic salary, and includes a 10% annual bonus, healthcare, dental scheme, pension and overtime.

Candidates must be fully qualified in electrical engineering, preferably through full apprenticeship, and with at least five years of dedicated experience maintaining M&E systems within critical facilities. Ideally this will be data centre specific, though financial services or pharmaceutical will also possess similar transferable skills.

Along with core qualifications, additional training such as LV / HV authorisation, 2391, F-Gas, Mechanical AP status, etc will all be beneficial and particular working knowledge should include:

Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase Power, Motors, Pumps, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, BMS Operation, Water Treatment, 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults, Diesel Generators (inc. on-load tests), HV & LV Distribution (Switching, Shut-Downs), Static & Rotary UPS Systems, VESDA, Close Control AC Units, etc.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to move "client-side" within the data centre world, which tends to bring both added stability in employment as well as a range of more attractive benefits. Examples of benefits in this instance include healthcare & dental scheme, 10% annual bonus, attractive pension and the chance for training and development.
