Key Responsibilities for a Principle Civil Engineer
* Lead and manage a small team of engineers, overseeing the delivery of work packages with minimal supervision.
* Ensure timely submission of deliverables, technical reviews, budget monitoring, and commercial management of projects.
* Support the development and performance of professional staff through guidance, training, direction, and feedback.
* Engage in the design of both temporary and permanent works, ensuring high-quality standards and the right solutions from the outset.
* Provide internal team leadership in implementing engineering solutions.
* Lead day-to-day technical discussions and collaborations with other designers, contractors, and clients.
* Ensure adherence to technical briefs and project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience for this Principle Civil Engineering role:
* Strong academic background with postgraduate qualifications in civil or structural engineering.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience.
* Chartered status in civil or structural engineering with membership in relevant professional bodies.
* Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
* Proven experience in a dynamic engineering consultancy environment.
* Extensive experience in tunnelling and underground space on major infrastructure projects.
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Proficient in BIM and other design software.
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
