The Role

The main focus of the role is to maximise the efficiency of the production unit and equipment. To demonstrate reproducibility, sustainability and continuous improvement within the designated BU. You must be forward thinking with a positive mind set, to identify and implement continuous improvement suggestions to the production area in regards to safety, people, team development, yield, flow and efficiencies.

Health and safety : Actively promote and demonstrate 'health and safety first' approach, utilising systems, standards and expectations. Communicate issues, concerns or non-compliance to the shift manager and close out problems in a timely manner. Attend weekly fire test to gain understanding and training to support, in line with legislation and site safety. Bi-weekly 5s audits to be carried out with actions identified and closed out.

People / Leadership : Be the first point of contact to teams in the designated BU. Support, develop and coach teams to strengthen skill set and to demonstrate best practice, including Attitude and behaviours. Hold monthly 1-1's with your team to understand and support development and future goals they have, as well as maintaining a good rapport and an empathetic approach.

Be self-driven, motivated, pragmatic, blue sky thinker with a team and goal orientated approach. Demonstrate fairness, integrity and consistency on all levels to support their 'everyday engagers' ethos and to autonomise their people and teams.

Throughout: To be maximised through all processes demonstrating improvement and sustainability. Follow production schedules in order to satisfy customer demand and line flexibility. Maintain good data and analysis to aid future improvements. Optimise set targets to meet customer demand. Pareto analysis of run rates, weekly, and implementation improvement ideas.

Quality : Right first time to be at 99.7% but targeting 100%. Pareto analysis of rejects reasons and implementation of improvement ideas, ensuring all product meet or exceed company quality standards inclusive of packaging and/or bespoke customer requirements. Ensure any non-conforming product is quarantined labelled correctly and highlighted to the relevant stakeholders.

Downtime : To be minimised with improvement ideas communicated and implemented from Pareto analysis. Reporting of repetitive stoppages to the shift manager, highlighting effects and potential areas of focus required.

Resource : Ensure all resource is in place where needed including materials, people and consumables. Operate any process if and when required in order to ensure the production remains operational and effective.

Reporting : Input OEE daily data into the system for traceability purposes and improvement ideas. Complete EOL automation production / transactions to improve FG inventory as well as any anomalies within 24hrs. Report into the shift manager and actively seek improvements in all aspects of the business unit. Produce structured and detailed ideas of focus reports (as is / is now methodology). Maintain team development and training records, as well as holiday requests in line with company policy.

Performance: Personal objectives will be set in line with the company strategy and vision, related to your BU. These will be set quarterly with an expectation of being 'smart' objectives by your Shift Manager and an agreement for successful completion.

Job Context / Key Challenges: To achieve the requirements of the production schedule and objectives set, driven by H&S, Quality, efficiency, 5s management and service (OTD_S) metric. The correct candidate must be flexible to business needs and demands as well as being open to training, to support your role (first aid / Fire Marshal / internal / external training etc.)

Skills and Qualifications

* Extensive knowledge of the production unit and each assigned section of that unit.

* Extensive product knowledge and needs to achieve that product, safely and to the desired customer quality.

* A thorough understanding of the supplier and customer process including consumables, data and internal stakeholder needs.

* A thorough understanding of OEE reporting and inputting

* A thorough understanding of all automated production processes and associated areas within that.

* Good communication skills on all levels

* Basic computer skills to fulfil role

* Be reliable and flexible to business requirements/demands.

* Be able to train others in all processes and systems to improve flexibility, growth and people development.
