Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education (RE) Teacher to this prestigious, dynamic secondary school we are partnered with. The ideal candidate will inspire, motivate, and educate students in religious studies, helping them to explore a range of beliefs, values, and ethical issues. As an RE teacher, you will contribute to students' understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives, promoting tolerance, empathy, and spiritual development. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that meet the curriculum standards and encourage students to reflect on the impact of religion in modern society.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality RE lessons that engage students of all abilities across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5

* Teach across a range of religious traditions and philosophies, encouraging respectful exploration of different faiths and worldviews.

* Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents in line with school policies.

* Encourage critical thinking and discussion on moral, ethical, and philosophical issues, helping students develop well-rounded views.

* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express their ideas and beliefs.

* Develop and implement differentiated resources to cater for diverse learning styles and needs, including for SEN and EAL students.

* Contribute to the RE department's curriculum development, ensuring lessons align with the National Curriculum and exam board requirements.

* Organise and lead extracurricular activities such as trips, guest speakers, or workshops related to religious studies.

* Engage in continuous professional development to keep up to date with pedagogical best practices and changes in the RE curriculum.

* Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies to create a conducive learning environment.

* Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Religious Education or a closely related subject.

* A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.

* Experience teaching RE at the secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and 4; experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential).

* Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and RE examination specifications (e.g., GCSE and A-Level).

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

* A commitment to promoting diversity, tolerance, and respect in the classroom.

* Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and contribute to the wider school community.
