Job Title: SEMH Teacher

As an SEMH Teacher in the education and training sector, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with a range of learning difficulties, including autism, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural challenges. You will work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure every student receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of a SEMH Teacher:

* Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the individual needs of students

* Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

* Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates to parents and caregivers

* Collaborate with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external agencies to provide holistic support

* Promote emotional and social development alongside academic achievement

* Ensure all pupils are supported in achieving their personal and educational goals

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or specialism in SEN

* In-depth knowledge of various special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff

* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing teaching approach

* Commitment to inclusivity and ensuring equal opportunities for all students

* Knowledge of relevant SEN frameworks and legislation (e.g., EHCPs)

* Local commute to Luton
