Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Shoreham
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
A school in Shoreham is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team, specialising in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs, both one-on-one and in small groups.
* Assist the class teacher in managing behavior and creating a nurturing, safe learning environment.
* Help students develop coping strategies to manage emotions and social interactions.
* Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to monitor student progress and adjust support as needed.
* Encourage positive emotional and social growth in students facing challenges.
* Build strong relationships with students, providing guidance and encouragement to promote their well-being.
Requirements:
* Experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant in a school.
* A passion for supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
* Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
