Job Advert: SEN Support Worker - Specialist SEN School (Havering)
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a caring and committed individual who is eager to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional complex needs.
Position: SEN Support Worker
Location: Havering
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
As an SEN Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing vital support to students with complex needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Your role will involve working closely with pupils to help them access education in a safe and supportive environment, promoting their personal and academic growth.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and ADD in both classroom and one-on-one settings
* Assisting with personal care and toileting as required
* Helping students with their individual learning plans and providing tailored interventions
* Supporting the emotional and social development of children
* Working collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure the best outcomes for each child
Requirements:
* Experience working as an SEN Support Worker, particularly with children with complex needs such as ASD, ADHD, and ADD
* Comfortable with assisting pupils with personal care, including toileting
* Patience, empathy, and a strong passion for working with children with SEN
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all pupils
