We are currently seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well led primary school in Havering, London, to support students with Autism. This is a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible. Whether you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate with a passion for SEN education and training, we would love to hear from you!

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on Autism, your primary responsibilities will include:

* Supporting students with Autism on a 1:1 or small group basis to help them engage in lessons and activities.

* Assisting the class teacher in delivering personalised and inclusive lessons that cater to the specific needs of each student.

* Promoting students' social, emotional, and academic development within a safe and supportive learning environment.

* Supporting the development and delivery of SEN education and training to students, ensuring they receive the best possible support to succeed.

* Working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other members of the teaching team to create individualised support plans and track student progress.

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred, particularly with students with Autism.

* Recent graduates with a strong interest in SEN education and training and a desire to work with children with Autism are also encouraged to apply.

* An understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how it impacts learning and development.

* A patient, caring, and flexible approach to working with children with special educational needs.

* Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
