About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to pupils with SEN, including autism (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural needs, within a mainstream classroom. Your role will be instrumental in helping these pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential social skills.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

* 1:1 Support: Work closely with individual pupils to help them engage in lessons and achieve their learning goals.

* Tailor Learning Materials: Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of the child.

* Encourage Inclusion: Support the pupil's integration into the wider classroom environment while promoting positive relationships with peers.

* Monitor Progress: Observe and record the pupil's development, sharing insights with the teacher and SENCO.

* Behaviour Support: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and manage challenges effectively.

What We're Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Experience in SEN: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in a mainstream setting.

* Patience and Resilience: The ability to remain calm and supportive, even in challenging situations.

* Communication Skills: Confidence in working collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents to deliver cohesive support.

* Creative Approach: Someone who can use engaging and imaginative methods to inspire and motivate pupils.
