A vibrant and supportive primary school in Redbridge, London, is looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2025. This long-term role runs until July 2025, with teacher training opportunities available from September 2025 for the right candidate. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
* Assisting in the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and supporting students with ASD and other learning needs.
* Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum.
* Working closely with teachers to adapt learning resources and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
* Fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and valued.
* Monitoring and tracking the progress of students, reporting back to the SEN coordinator and teachers.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a graduate with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a desire to gain this experience through education and training.
* Have excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to different student needs.
* Be proactive in providing assistance to students, helping them reach their full potential.
* Approach the role with empathy, understanding, and a positive, can-do attitude.
