The Role

The support worker will provide support, therapy and companionship to a gentleman in his early 40s.

Your role will enable the client to live a healthy and safe life, maximising his rehabilitation potential, improving his quality of life, and achieving his desired goals.

The client works with his occupational therapist and physiotherapist to improve his walking and fitness. He also enjoys spending time with his dog, entertaining his niece and nephew with his excellent sense of humour, and playing football manager online. He now needs support to access the community, including volunteering at a Dogs Trust. The client desperately wants to make a difference in society but requires support to succeed.

Currently, the client resides with and is supported by his parents, but they are planning to find him his own property to maximise his independence long-term.

As a support worker, you will play a key role in facilitating these experiences, which will be directed by his team of therapists. You will also take part in his rehab sessions, which will help to promote, improve, and develop your own skills, experience, and knowledge base.
