About the Role of a Teaching Assistant, Stratford:

Would you like to work in a friendly Primary school based in Stratford?

Would you like to work with a child with Down Syndrome?

Academics are currently working with this very successful two-form entry Primary School in Stratford to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2025. The role involves working 1:1 with a Year 6 child who has Down Syndrome. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children's education and development while gaining invaluable SEN skills.

Key Details of a Teaching Assistant, Stratford:

* Start Date: January 2025

* Contract: 1-year contract with the option to extend for the following academic year.

* Salary: £85 to £115 per day depending on experience.

* Support Provided: Full training and guidance will be provided by the school's experienced SENCO.

* Education and training provided.

Responsibilities:

* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 student with Down Syndrome.

* Assist the child in staying on task and understanding Year 6 lessons.

* Implement strategies to support the child's learning and emotional well-being.

* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt materials and activities.

* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working in a Primary school or with children with Special Needs is advantageous but not essential.

* Strong proficiency in English and Maths.

* Reliable, diligent, and passionate about working with children.
