Workshop Supervisor - Bespoke Mechanical Build

Location: Orton Southgate, Peterborough Salary: Circa £40,000 + Benefits Industry: Engineering / Fabrication / Mechanical Build

Are you an experienced workshop professional with a background in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly ? Do you have the leadership skills to supervise a team of 5-6 skilled technicians in a bespoke manufacturing environment?

If so, this could be the perfect role for you!

The Role:

As Workshop Supervisor , you'll be leading a small team in the hands-on production of bespoke mechanical builds . You'll oversee projects from disassembly through to final reassembly, ensuring quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction . Some client communication will be required, as well as occasional on-site installation supervision .

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate a team of 5-6 workshop staff

Oversee bespoke mechanical builds, ensuring high standards are met

Work closely with engineers and technicians to deliver high-spec projects

Provide hands-on support (welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting)

Communicate with clients regarding project requirements and updates

Ensure health & safety compliance within the workshop

Manage resources to meet project deadlines

Coordinate logistics, including transportation, supplier relationships, and project documentation

What We're Looking For:

Background in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, or similar

Supervisory experience - leading a small team in a workshop environment

Strong communication skills - ability to liaise with clients and suppliers

Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail

Willingness to travel for occasional on-site project work
