Workshops Manager City Transport

Location : Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £43,421 - £46,464 per annum

The Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served Workshops Manager to take up a permanent position to manage their Heavy Goods & Horticultural /Plant Workshops at Newington Road, NE6 5BD.

City Transport maintains and repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant and horticultural equipment for use across the city as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles, licenced taxis and hackney carriages.

The Role

You will lead the teams, primarily in our Heavy Goods & Horticultural Workshops at Newington Road.

Skills and Qualifications

* A category B driving licence (Essential) (Categories C or C+E goods vehicle licence being advantageous)

* The skills and experience to achieve the effective and efficient maintenance, diagnostics and repair of the council's HGV & Horticultural vehicle fleet.

* You will have Managed/Supervised within a motor vehicle engineering workshop environment

* Hold a Motor Vehicle Engineering NVQ level 3 or equivalent

* A Management or Health & Safety qualification (Desirable)
